Bio
Robert Macaisa is a Los Angeles-based photographer specializing in editorial, university, and corporate portrait photography. His clients include UCLA, Loyola Marymount University, east coast universities, and local businesses and nonprofit organizations throughout California. His work consists of headshots, as well as studio and location portraiture, used primarily for marketing and communications initiatives and storytelling.
Personal Statement
I believe that storytelling is the core of portrait photography. Cameras, lights, and locations are all tools to further a story—a person and their lived experience is at the center of it.
As a first-generation Filipino-American, diversity and inclusion is a consideration in all the work I participate in, as it’s been a major piece of my own life. I believe capturing images of people is an empowering act, and I try to live that out from pre-production, to the set, to the final deliverable.
