It's 6:00pm and I'm being led into a small office above a campus gym where I know some magic's about to happen. I'm excited.
That excitement became fear as my assistant and I saw the space we'd be shooting in: the corner of a small meeting room.
Like, 10x10 kinda small.
With that space, I decided for a punchy medium head shot. Somehow, we had to fit in our seamless for a full-body shot then the job was done.
We prepped for 30 minutes, with an Elinchrom 39in Deep Throat and a Profoto Deep Umbrella for fill.
Let's just say it was the shortest five minute shoot of my life. I'm glad I got the selects I have, and I got to shake the hand of the NBA all-time leading scorer and Hall-of-Famer.
Something else I learned on this - 7'2" is a lot taller than it sounds or looks on tv.
I love my job. It's awesome. Another day, another shoot!
(Shout out to my awesome stills assistant, Bo Hamby. Check him out, now.)
